Actor

Kens' first Television program was "The Adventurers", produced for Channel 7 at Artransa Park Television Studios in Sydney. It was as a result of his experience in this show that Ken successfully auditioned for the role of Mark Hammond in the Skippy TV series. Whilst FAUNA Productions were attempting to sell the series based on a pilot episode Ken decided that a career as an actor was what he wanted, hence he auditioned for the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).

NIDA and the Bush Kangaroo

Ken was successful at his first audition and was offered a scholarship to train at NIDA. Shortly after the course commenced FAUNA agreed terms to produce the Skippy series, and following his performance in the pilot Ken was offered the role of Mark Hammond. The series lasted nearly four years with many Australian and overseas TV viewers treated to the weekly adventures of Skippy the Bush Kangaroo featuring Ken, Ed Deveraux (Ranger Matt Hammond), Tony Bonner (Ranger and Helicopter Pilot Jerry King), Gary Pankhurst (Sonny Hammond) and Lisa Goddard (Clancy Merick).
The series consisted 92 episodes and a feature film. Many well-known Australian actors made guest appearances and Skippy went on to be one of the most popular Australians TV shows ever made. In fact it is still seen at times on TV to this day.
